Open Yourself Up To New Possibilities

How open to new “stuff” are you?

Be honest.  How open are you to new people, places, foods or experiences?

I’ve found that so many of us are creatures of habit, myself included.  There’s nothing wrong with that!

The only time we suffer is when we close ourselves off to potentially experiencing new (and beneficial) things.

Can you think of a time when you’ve done that?

I know I can.

I can count on more fingers than I’d like the number of times that I’ve just avoided talking to someone because it would take me out of my comfort zone.

It would be too hard.  What if they didn’t like me?  What if they thought that I didn’t know what I was talking about?

What if?  What if?  What if?

Two words that I’d be happy not to hear together for a while.

I realize now that I was just hiding from my own growth and ignoring the desire I really had to meet new and exciting people and to experience totally different things.

Today things are a little different.

How about with you?

How open are you to trying something new?

If I told you that I was going to show you a simple recipe for a typical comfort or splurge food but in a healthier way, would you be open to trying it?

If I told you that the person you are most avoiding making eye contact with holds the master key to unlocking your next great experience, would you just start shaking your head “no”?

If you’re resisting, don’t worry!

That just makes you normal!

Today, though, I challenge you to step outside your comfort zone.

Any way, any how, just try it.

What’s the worst thing that could happen?

You might get a funny look from a stranger.

(Who hasn’t?!)

You might meet a new friend.

(Bonus!)

You might find a way to do that one thing that you’ve been desperately trying to hold down inside of you.

You know what I’m talking about.  We all have at least one.

By the beginning of the new year, you’re going to see one of mine.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE

Do ONE thing today that you feel is out of your comfort zone.

Don’t worry if you think it’s something small, who cares!  Just do it.

Afterwards, check in with yourself.  Did you feel empowered?  Did you feel confident that you could do more?  Did you do more?

Did you feel completely sick to your stomach?

What would it take for you to do something that is outside of your comfort zone every day?

Would that be something you’d be willing to try?

Try it on for size.  See if it fits.

If it does, go for it!

If you’re not sure or if you react so strongly against it, then get some support.

Email me annette@whatthebleepdoieat.com and see if I can help you break through.  Stretch your wings and see how far you can go, don’t worry, I’ll be there to catch you!
