The 21 Day Gratitude Journey, Day 18

NEW TO THE GRATITUDE JOURNEY?  HERE’S A QUICK OVERVIEW!

JOIN IN WHENEVER YOU’RE READY…

HERE’S THE PLAN:

I’LL SPEND THE NEXT 21 DAYS FOCUSED ON GRATITUDE. EACH DAY I WILL FOCUS ON ONE ASPECT & EACH DAY I WILL SHOW MY GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION TO SOMEONE NEW.

And what I’d love is for you to join me. Tell your friends, your family, co-workers, anyone.

I honestly feel that if we can embrace gratitude & all the goodness in the world, then we’ll be able to make amazing & far reaching positive change.

We are all capable of amazing things & it’ll take far less effort than you may think!

Gratitude is step one.

Assignment for Day 18:

1. How do you show your gratitude towards solitude, towards being alone and having/being quiet?

This is a hard concept for some people to grasp sometimes.  Why should I be happy or grateful for those times when I am alone?  Why should I be grateful for the quiet or solitude of not having another soul close by?

There is a lot to be said for being able to sit quietly by yourself without fear of loneliness.  Being alone is one thing; being lonely is something else entirely.  It’s  not bad to be either, but it’s helpful to recognize when one situation presents itself and knowing how you would react to it.

What do you consider to be the end result of solitude or quiet time for yourself?  Do you crave it?  Fear it?  Embrace it? Fight against it?

Spend a few minutes thinking & writing. Choose one place to collect your thoughts for our 21 day journey.

2. Choose your eighteenth person to show gratitude to. You are free to speak your gratitude, write your gratitude or show your gratitude.

Any way that feels the most appropriate, that is how you need to do it.

Be honest & open. You are doing everything right!

Please feel free to share your thoughts below. Ask for help, guidance or support.

I LOVE quiet time. But I haven’t always loved it. As I’ve gotten older & have gotten to know myself better, I’ve realized that I crave time alone to not only be creative but also to recharge my battery.

Don’t get me wrong, I love people and I need to have people in my life but I also need time for solitude.

What a great word, really. Solitude is a little like meditation to me. I just know that I’ve passed the point of solitude when I start feeling lonely.

But I am truly grateful for & relish the time I get to spend by myself. It’s time that is just for me, that I can spend how ever I want and more importantly, how ever I need.
