The 21 Day Gratitude Journey, Day 13

NEW TO THE GRATITUDE JOURNEY?  HERE’S A QUICK OVERVIEW!

JOIN IN WHENEVER YOU’RE READY…

HERE’S THE PLAN:

I’LL SPEND THE NEXT 21 DAYS FOCUSED ON GRATITUDE. EACH DAY I WILL FOCUS ON ONE ASPECT & EACH DAY I WILL SHOW MY GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION TO SOMEONE NEW.

And what I’d love is for you to join me. Tell your friends, your family, co-workers, anyone.

I honestly feel that if we can embrace gratitude & all the goodness in the world, then we’ll be able to make amazing & far reaching positive change.

We are all capable of amazing things & it’ll take far less effort than you may think!

Gratitude is step one.

Assignment for Day 13:

1. How do you show gratitude to your friends?  How do you show them love, appreciation and gratitude for all the things that they do for you?  Or the things that they don’t do for you- for your own good?

As humans, we are programmed for community, for tribes, for friendship.  As easy as it may be- at least initially in our own heads- to go it alone and expect success that way, that’s  not really how the world works.  We are synergistic, we are co-dependent, we are parasitic, we are meant to be with other people.  Face it, our DNA programs us to reproduce and that is something that we haven’t quite figured out how to do alone.  Parenting, yes but not reproduction.

So it’s important to show gratitude to those people that fall into our lives and add to it in a way that we needed without knowing.  We need to thank those people who make our lives make more sense, who lift us up when we need it and also who call us out on our bullsh*t but always in our best interests.

Spend a few minutes thinking & writing. Choose one place to collect your thoughts for our 21 day journey.

2. Choose your thirteenth person to show gratitude to. You are free to speak your gratitude, write your gratitude or show your gratitude.

Any way that feels the most appropriate, that is how you need to do it.

Be honest & open. You are doing everything right!

Please feel free to share your thoughts below. Ask for help, guidance or support.

We’re all in this together

Friendship is a crazy thing. Sometimes your friends drive you absolutely crazy and other times, they are the glue that keeps you together.

I’m admitting right now that I’m not always fabulous about showing gratitude to my friends. When I do, I go all out and do a mass gratitude love-fest. But when I’m bad, I fear that sometimes they don’t know how important they are to me.

Without them, the darker moments of my life would have been way darker and I wouldn’t have been able to see as quickly all the good that’s in this world.

They make my life richer and I am so very lucky to have such wonderful, loving and supportive people in my life.
